Despite the rigours of local weather conditions timber is a
long lasting material when treated with modern preservatives
at the manufacturing stages. All timber we use is finest
Scandinavian treated white wood decking timber or chosen
hard woods laid on exterior quality joists and incorporating
galvanised fittings and special decking screws.
The decking timbers are TANALISED (i.e. treated with
Tanalith oxide preservative) - a pressure impregnation
treatment with added wax additive giving the wood protection
from rot for 15 years, even without further
protective painting. All the cut ends of each piece of
timber used are also treated on site to ensure that the
overall integrity of the preservation system is maintained.
The other timbers used are suitably treated for outdoors use
too.
Also we use a variety of these fittings to fasten the
timbers together:

for fixing down the deck boards
