Problem Details |
Best Solution |
 |
CONCRETE TILES:
Can be lightly
pressure-washed in case of extreme growth, better
still treat with algicide such as LICHENITE' and
brush off dead residues. Then install COPPER RIDGE along the ridges and
hips. |
 |
'ASBESTOS' TILES:
Treat
in same way as concrete tiles |
 |
SLATE:
Not usually affected as badly as man-made tiles, often because the
ridges fitted are traditionally ZINC which
has an effect in deterring the growth of algaes and mosses. However
concrete ridges will mean that roofs will
gather moss eventually. |
 |
DECRA:
Should be maintained with care as damage to the top
granulated coating can result in the galvanised layer
below being attacked by any aggressive chemicals used in
cleaning. Over zealous pressure washing will remove pieces
of the coating
on the edges of the tiles. |
